I The stage

1- Choose an artist and his instrument.

2- Choose a sound-set. 

3- Listen to them by clicking on each sample. (The “listen” button on the right has to be activated, shortcut: A key)

4- Drag the sample of your choice on stage. 

5- Add another sample on stage and draw an arrow by clicking from the red or the yellow point to the other sample.

6- To erase a sample press the Backspace key or take it away from the stage with the mouse.

7- To duplicate a sample press the D key.

8- To listen to your piece, press the “start” button, and select the sample you want to begin with.

9- Your piece will be played as long as you want, like a non-deterministic- finite-state-machine…

10- To save your pieces, you have to login, or create a new account.

11- You can listen to all the pieces already composed on the “pieces” menu.

II On the right column if you click on the sample

1- You can adjust the volume of the sample.

2-  You can adjust the fade-in and fade-out times of a sample in milliseconds if you want a smooth transition.

3-  You can choose a start point and an end point in milliseconds. This means that you can cut the sample and use only a small part of it if you want.

 4- The length of the sample is written in milliseconds to help you to choose the appropriate length of the fade (or the cut).

III Arrows

1 – There are three types of arrows: red, yellow, or blue

a- The red arrow: the red arrow will be chosen by chance among all other red arrows coming from the played sample.

b- The yellow arrow: it will be always chosen. 

c- The blue arrow: you can select how often the arrow will be chosen.

2- To erase an arrow press the Backspace key or take it away from the stage with the mouse.

IV On the right column if you click on the head of an arrow

 1 – You can choose the distance in milliseconds between two samples. A zoom tool can make it more precise. The distance can also be negative, which means that the second sample overlays the first one.

2 – You can disable one or many arrows if you need to hear only a small part of your piece.

3 – You can change the color of an arrow at any time.

4 – If you chose a blue arrow, you can set a start and an end value to adjust the frequency for the arrow to be chosen. For example if the start value is 4 and the end value 4, the arrow will be chosen every 4 times. If the start value is 4 and the end value 8, the arrow will be chosen between 4 and 8 times.
